[bsd-nomads:8170] [bsd-nomads:8150] Asking for permission for redistribution of Neomagic-1.1.tar.gz

Dear Mr. Jeff Shorey.

Hello, this is Yoshio MITA, a Japanese guy who live in France.
I was so delighted with your nice WEB page for NeoMagic NM128.
It's a really good news for those who had difficulties with NMxx.

I created a FreeBSD port for XF86_SVGA server with NM128 support.
FreeBSD port is an automatic
fetch-extract-patch-configure-installation-packaging system.

Using this port, I also built packages of XF86_SVGA server:
ftp://ports.jp.FreeBSD.org/pub/incoming/PUT-here/XF86_SVGA.NeoMagic128V/
MD5 (XF86_SVGA-NeoMagic128V-2.2.5R.tgz) = 1204e70c98eaa8f156def3f11e87924a
MD5 (XF86_SVGA-NeoMagic128V-2.2.6R.tgz) = 4d64d2ddd86b4038b8dc66de04cfbb00
MD5 (neomagic.980606.tar.gz) = fbd74feb6e4d29a8086f849a98f9808d

After one day after announcement to bsd-nomads ML, a ML for
Laptop Hackers with FreeBSD, 5 laptops are reported as successful:

Libretto 100 MG128XD(NM2160) with FreeBSD 2.2.6-R 8/16bpp
SONY VAIO NOTE PCG-505EX MG128ZV+(NM2097) with FreeBSD 2.2.6-R
MITSUBISHI AMiTY CN model2(M3031-L47P1) MG128ZV+(NM2097) with FreeBSD 2.2.6-R
DELL Latitude XPiCD P150ST MG128V(NM2090) FreeBSD 2.2.6-R
Panasonic Let's Note AL-N2 T515J5 MG128ZV(NM2093) with FreeBSD 2.2.5-R 16bpp

So, I would like to ask you the permission of free copying and
redistribution of your nice Neomagic-1.1.tgz and XF86Config.gz.
If you kindly permit this, the files will be copied to
ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/ and mirrors.
This also profits you with lower traffic to your WEB page.
Neomagic XF86_SVGA server will also be compiled with latest
FreeBSD versions, and delivered to all mirror sites.
Which is really nice thing for those who are struggling with
compilation/reconfiguration of XF86_SVGA server.

XFree86 core team would be interested in your work, and your code
might also be imported in the next version. Even in that case,
it's worth while contribution of Neomagic SVGA server port
temporarily.

For your information, there is a Mail in which information of
PCs which uses NeoMagic is summarized.
